ReadyKids

ReadyKids has been a committed partner with Barrett Early Learning Center for many years through three distinct programs:

Growing Minds

Growing Minds offers research-based professional development for Barrett staff.  Together, we set quality improvement goals to create a rich learning environment and engaging teacher-child interactions associated with strong child outcomes.

Play Partners

From October through May, Play Partner volunteers visit Barrett classrooms for weekly early literacy sessions using dialogic reading – an interactive technique that increases children’s expressive language fluency, attention to detail, and vocabulary.

STAR Kids

STAR Kids Educators teach 15-30-minute lessons twice a week using Al’s Pals: Making Healthy Choices – a curriculum that supports children in developing social-emotional skills such as using self-control, making friends, expressing feelings, accepting differences, and making safe, healthy choices.
